MesoSim Free and Academia Account Changes

Effective March 23, 2026 : the Academia program is discontinued, and the free sign-up path is replaced by a paid 14-day trial priced at a one-time fee.

Motivation​

Since MesoSim launched four years ago, the platform and its user base have grown substantially.

From the beginning, we set out to build a transparent and affordable platform for options strategy research. In practice, that meant providing public access to study existing runs, offering 25 free runs to new users, publishing trade analysis openly on this blog, and launching the MesoSim Licenses for Academia program for eligible students and educators.

Unfortunately, these programs have also attracted repeated abuse, including multiple account creation, account sharing, and ineligible Academia applications. Supporting these cases now takes a meaningful amount of time and bandwidth away from product development and customer service.

To address these issues we are moving to a more sustainable model which improves the user experience for those who wish to try our services.

Changes to Academia Accounts​

The Academia program is discontinued effective March 22, 2026.

Existing Academia users will be moved to free accounts. Their backtests will remain accessible through the usual account channels.

This change supersedes our earlier MesoSim Licenses for Academia announcement.

New Trial Model​

We are replacing the free sign-up model with a paid trial designed to give prospective users access to our full product portfolio for a limited period.

For a one-time fee of $25, new users receive 14 days of unlimited access to:

  • MesoSim Advanced, including the AI Assistant
  • MesoLive

We believe this remains a generous way for researchers and traders to evaluate the full stack before committing to an ongoing subscription.

Existing Customers​

Users with unpaid accounts who want full access to MesoSim Advanced with AI Assistant and MesoLive will be routed through this trial path.

Existing customers with an active paid plan are unaffected by these changes.

Important

Account sharing remains strictly prohibited and may result in account closure or legal action.

Closing​

We want to spend our time improving the product and serving our customers. These changes help us do that while still offering a straightforward way to evaluate the full MesoSim and MesoLive experience.
